Next Camp update

Event Date:
Wednesday, July 18, 2018 (All day) to Tuesday, July 21, 2020 (All day)

We are hoping that lock down rules will be relaxed by the middle of July.  If so we are planning a camping trip to the Limpopo River over the long weekend of 18 to 21st July.   Chris Brewster and I visited a potential site last week.  It is straight from the Garden of Eden, with short natural lawn under huge shady trees on the banks of the “great, grey-green, greasy Limpopo river” as described by Rudyard Kipling more than a hundred years ago.  We’ll be bird watching in the morning and afternoons and then discussing how the elephant got his trunk, how the leopard his spots, why the hippo spends all day in the river and why warthogs run with their tails up, around the campfire at night.  There will be a shower and there is plenty of water and wood available.  You will have to take your own drinking water.  The nearest retail outlet is about 115 kms away.  You do not want to miss this camp.  Please let Ian or me know whether you can come.
